Incorporation of Fidelidade Macau Life – Insurance Company Limited

Fidelidade – Companhia de Seguros S.A. (“Fidelidade”), a company incorporated and registered in Portugal, has been providing life insurance and pension fund services in the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (“Macau”) through a branch (“the Branch”) since year 1999.  During this near to 20 years’ period, the business in Macau has grown rapidly.

Fidelidade has then decided to propose to the Macau Government Authorities to continue such provision of life insurance and pension fund services through a more relevant and strong corporate presence in Macau, by means of incorporating a local Life Insurance Company instead of keep providing the services through a branch.

We are pleased to announce that, on 31 March 2020, our life branch has also been upgraded to a local subsidiary Fidelidade Macau Life – Insurance Company Limited (“Fidelidade Macau Life”) and will continue to provide high quality life insurance and pension fund service to our clients. 

We believe that this upgrade shows the strong commitment of our mother company, Fidelidade – Companhia de Seguros, S.A. and our largest shareholder, Fosun International Limited, in developing the insurance business in Macao.  This is an important step to move ahead in our desire to distinguish ourselves as one of the most dynamic and innovative insurers in the region, assuring provision of high-quality comprehensive insurance and pension fund services to our clients, and to explore more various business opportunities from the development of the Greater Bay Area.

We have more than 20 years together in Macao – so that life doesn’t stop!  Together, in protection, care and health, adding efforts and multiplying wills to serve more and better our customers. 

And this is the spirit that has guided the Fidelidade Group for over 200 years!
