The international financial rating agency assigned an Insurer Financial Strength (“IFS”) rating of “A” and a Long-term Issuer Default rating (“IDR”) of “A-“ to the Portuguese Insurer.
Lisbon, December 10, 2021. The American financial rating agency Fitch announced today that it has assigned Fidelidade an Insurer Financial Strength (“IFS”) of “A” and a long-term Issuer Default rating (“IDR”) of “A-“, with Stable outlooks, one of the highest ratings, among Portuguese companies that reflects a “Strong” Company Profile, a “Very Strong” Capitalization and Leverage and a “Good” Investment and Asset Risk.
In obtaining this solid Rating, Fitch highlighted in a very positive way the company's high capitalisation, in particular its solvency ratio, as well as the solidity of its investment portfolio.
Fidelidade's leading position in the Portuguese insurance market and the growing weight of the company's international activity were also worthy of note.
For Rogério Campos Henriques, CEO of Fidelidade: "The Rating assigned by Fitch to Fidelidade is a recognition of the value creation strategy that has been followed, but, perhaps more importantly, is what this Rating means for the trust and protection of our policyholders”.
